Yesterday we read 4 childrens books and 2 chapter books. We started school this morning at 9:45.

Warm-up: Today’s warm-up was “Rain”. Ani wrote that rain is fun and she likes to splash in the puddles.

Math: Ani did page 13C of Math-U-See Delta. She really likes finding the area of a trapezoid. She told me today that I had better hurry up and get her Epsilon. I told her she is not even half way through Delta yet and we already have Epsilon. She said in that case she’s going to go faster through Delta. We’ll see. Tomorrow she starts the review pages which she definitely does not enjoy doing. She played a bit with the Flashmaster.

Latin: We reviewed the chapter maxim, 2nd declension noun endings, sum chant, and the verb watch. We learned shout and then Ani wanted to learn a second verb so we also learned delay.

History: I read the part in Story of the World volume 1 on Amenhotep and King Tut to the kids. Ani narrated it. She drew a picture of an Egyptian Death Mask. I read two pages each in the Usborne and Kingfisher books to the kids. Ani did map work. She worked on memorizing the ancient Egyptian dynasties.

Language Arts: Ani took a misspelled words test. She did three pages in Spelling Workout B. She read lesson 33 in the McGuffey Third Reader. She worked on memorizing the prepositions and The Year. I read four chapters of A Tale of Two Cities (great illustrated classics) to the kids. Ani did lesson 14 of Rod & Staff English 3. She really loves to diagram sentences.

Religion: Ani read 6 pages in the Illustrated Book of Mormon volume 4 aloud.

Piano: Ani reviewed the flash cards she has learned so far.

Spanish: Ani recited the Spanish alphabet. She has done it perfectly for a few days now. She spent some time working in Rosetta Stone.

We finished school at 12:30. 2 hours and 45 minutes today.

We read one chapter book together and Ani read one chapter book herself today. We started school at 10 this morning.

Warm-up: The warm-up for today was “Winter”. Ani wrote that winter is cold and fun to play in the snow.

Math: Ani did page 13B in Math-U-See Delta. She spent some time playing with her Flashmaster.

Latin: We reviewed the chapter maxim, the 2nd declension noun endings, and the sum chant. We learned the verb to watch.

History: I read the part in Story of the World volume 1 of The General and the Woman Pharoah. Ani narrated it. She continued to memorize her ancient Egyptian dynasties list.

Language Arts: Ani did a spelling test and completed two pages in Spelling Workout B. She read lesson 32 in the McGuffey Third Reader. She worked on memorizing her preposition list (halfway done) and The Year (through April). I read three chapters of A Tale of Two Cities (great illustrated classics) aloud. Ani did lesson 13 of Rod & Staff English 3.

Religion: I read 6 pages of the Illustrated Book of Mormon volume 4 to the kids.

Music History: We read a book about Tchaikovsky and listened to part of the 1812 Overture.

Spanish: Ani recited the Spanish alphabet and spent some time working in Rosetta Stone.

We finished school at 12:45 today. 2 hours and 45 minutes.

On Friday we read one chapter book. On Saturday we read one chapter book together and Ani read one chapter book. On Sunday we read one childrens book and one chapter book together and I read two childrens books to Cameron. We started school at 3 today.

Warm-up: The warm-up for today was “This weekend”. Ani wrote that this weekend we went to the pool and went to see the ducks.

Math: Ani watched the lesson 13 video and did page 13A of Math-U-See Delta. She spent some time using the Flashmaster.

Latin: We reviewed the chapter maxim and the 2nd declension noun endings and learned the Sum (I am) chant.

History: I read the part in Story of the World volume 1 of The Hyksos Invade Engypt to the kids. Ani narrated it. I read 2 pages in the Usborne history book to the kids. Ani did map work. She continued memorizing her ancient Egyptian dynasties list.

Language Arts: Ani did two pages in Spelling Workout B. She read lesson 31 in the McGuffey Third Reader. I read about the author and the first four chapters of A Tale of Two Cities (great illustrated classics) to the kids. Ani did lesson 12 in Rod & Staff English 3 and completed worksheet 8.

Religion: I read 6 pages in the Illustrated Book of Mormon volume 4 to the kids.

Piano: Ani did one page each in her lesson book, activity and ear training book, notespeller book, solo book, and technic book.

Spanish: Ani recited the Spanish alphabet and spent some time working in Rosetta Stone.

We finished school at 6:30. 3 hours and 30 minutes today.

Yesterday we read one chapter book. Ani read a chapter book and she read a childrens book twice, once to herself and once to Cameron. We started school at 1.

Warm-up: The warm-up for today was “Fall”. Ani wrote that fall is cold but a little chilly.

Math: Ani did page 12F and Test 12 in Math-U-See Delta.

Latin: We memorized the 2nd declension noun endings.

History: Ani continued working on memorizing the list of Ancient Egyptian Dynasties.

Science: We learned about algae.

Language Arts: Ani took a spelling test and did two pages of Spelling Workout B. She read lesson 30 in the McGuffey Third Reader. She worked on memorizing the preposistions and The Year. I read the rest of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (great illustrated classics) to the kids. They gave me a synopsis of the book and their reviews. Ani did lesson 11 of Rod & Staff English 3 and worksheet 7.

Religion: I read 6 pages of the Illustrated Book of Mormon volume 4 aloud to the kids.

Piano: Ani practiced the piano for a while.

Spanish: Ani reviewed the alphabet in Spanish.

We finished school at 4. 3 hours today.

We read 5 childrens books and 1 chapter book yesterday. We started school at 9:15 today.

Warm-up: Today’s warm-up was “Summer”. Ani wrote that she loves to play in the sun’s summer light.

Math: Ani did page 12E in Math-U-See Delta.

Latin: We watched the video for chapter 7.

History: Ani worked on memorizing the Ancient Egyptian Dynasties list.

Science: We started growing some mold on an apricot. We started an experiment page about it.

Language Arts: Ani took a misspelled words test and did two pages in Spelling Workout B. She read lessons 28 and 29 in the McGuffey Third Reader. She worked on memorizing the prepositions and The Year. I read pages 146-196 in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (great illustrated classics) to the kids. Ani did Rod & Staff lesson 10 and worksheet 6.

Art: We learned about Boticelli and Ani made a piece of art in the round.

Spanish: Ani reviewed the Spanish alphabet. We couldn’t get Rosetta Stone to work.

We finished school at 12. 2 hours and 45 minutes again today.

Yesterday we read 8 childrens books together and Ani read 2 to herself. We started school today at 8:45.

Warm-up: Today’s warm-up was “Spring”. Ani wrote that spring is the warmest couple of days.

Math: Ani did page 12D of Math-U-See Delta.

Latin: Ani did the three activity pages for chapter 6.

History: I read the part in Story of the World volume 1 on Egypt Invades Nubia. Ani narrated it. She started memorizing the list of Ancient Egyptian Dynasties.

Language Arts: Ani took a spelling test and did two pages of Spelling Workout B. She read lesson 27 in the McGuffey Third Reader. She continued memorizing the prepositions and The Year. I read pages 100-146 of The Adventures of Sherlock Homes (great illustrated classics) to the kids. Ani did Rod & Staff lesson 9 and worksheet 5.

Religion: Ani read one page and I read 5 pages aloud from the Illustrated Book of Mormon volume 4.

Piano: Ani reviewed her flash cards.

Spanish: Ani reviewed the Spanish alphabet and worked in Rosetta Stone.

We finished school at 11:30. 2 hours and 45 minutes today.

Yesterday we read 2 childrens books and 2 chapter books. We started school today at 10:45.

Warm-up: Today’s warm-up was “The stars”. Ani wrote that the stars twinkle in the moonlit sky. Cameron said the stars twinkle.

Math: Ani did page 12C of Math-U-See Delta.

Latin: Ani did the grammar page, worksheet, and pre-quiz for chapter 6.

Language Arts: Ani did three pages of Spelling Workout B. She read lesson 26 in the McGuffey Third Reader. She did Rod & Staff English 3 lesson 8. She worked on memorizing the prepositions and The Year. Cameron match the upper and lowercase letters Gg, Hh, and Ii. He did copywork for the letter H (Hh, Heart, hand). I read pages 50-100 of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (great illustrated classics) to the kids.

Religion: I read 6 pages of the Illustrated Book of Mormon volume 4 to the kids.

History: I read the section of Story of the World volume 1 on Anansi and the Make Believe Food to the kids. Ani narrated it. I read two pages of the Kingfisher history book to the kids. We went through the review cards for the chapters up to this point. I read Zomo the Rabbit, Rhinos for Lunch Elephants for Supper, and Anasi the Spider to the kids.

Music History: We learned about Schubert and listened to one of his pieces.

Spanish: Ani reviewed the Spanish alphabet and spent some time on Rosetta Stone.

We finished school at 2:45. 4 hours today.

On Friday we read 7 childrens books and 3 chapter books. On Saturday Ani read one childrens book to Cameron and we read two childrens books all together. On Sunday we read 3 childrens books and Ani read 2 chapter books. We started school at 11 this morning.

Warm-up: Today’s warm-up was “This weekend”. Cameron said he went to the pool and Ani wrote that she went swimming.

Math: Ani completed page 12B of Math-U-See Delta. Cameron did page 10D of Math-U-See Primer.

Latin: We reviewed the chapter maxim and the Ludus chant and the first five vocabulary words. We learned the words for male student, male master, male servant, male slave, and male friend.

Language Arts: Ani took a spelling test and did one page in Spelling Workout B. She read lesson 25 in the McGuffey Third Reader. She did lesson 7 in Rod & Staff and did worksheet number 4. She worked on memorizing her list of prepositions and started memorizing the poem The Year. Cameron matched the capitals and lowercase letters of G, H, and I. I read about the author and through page 50 of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (great illustrated classics) to the kids.

Religion: I read six pages in the Illustrated Book of Mormon volume 4 to the kids.

History: I read the section on Anansi and the Turtle in Story of the World volume 1 to the kids. Ani narrated it. I read two pages in the Usborne World History book to the kids. Ani did map work. She traced her hands and colored them how she would want them painted.

Piano: Ani did a page each in her lesson book, activity and ear training book, notespeller book, solo book, and technic book.

Spanish: Ani recited the alphabet in Spanish. She spent some time working in Rosetta Stone.

We finished school at 2:15. 3 hours and 15 minutes today.
