Yesterday we read 4 childrens books and 2 chapter books. We started school this morning at 9:45.
Warm-up: Today’s warm-up was “Rain”. Ani wrote that rain is fun and she likes to splash in the puddles.
Math: Ani did page 13C of Math-U-See Delta. She really likes finding the area of a trapezoid. She told me today that I had better hurry up and get her Epsilon. I told her she is not even half way through Delta yet and we already have Epsilon. She said in that case she’s going to go faster through Delta. We’ll see. Tomorrow she starts the review pages which she definitely does not enjoy doing. She played a bit with the Flashmaster.
Latin: We reviewed the chapter maxim, 2nd declension noun endings, sum chant, and the verb watch. We learned shout and then Ani wanted to learn a second verb so we also learned delay.
History: I read the part in Story of the World volume 1 on Amenhotep and King Tut to the kids. Ani narrated it. She drew a picture of an Egyptian Death Mask. I read two pages each in the Usborne and Kingfisher books to the kids. Ani did map work. She worked on memorizing the ancient Egyptian dynasties.
Language Arts: Ani took a misspelled words test. She did three pages in Spelling Workout B. She read lesson 33 in the McGuffey Third Reader. She worked on memorizing the prepositions and The Year. I read four chapters of A Tale of Two Cities (great illustrated classics) to the kids. Ani did lesson 14 of Rod & Staff English 3. She really loves to diagram sentences.
Religion: Ani read 6 pages in the Illustrated Book of Mormon volume 4 aloud.
Piano: Ani reviewed the flash cards she has learned so far.
Spanish: Ani recited the Spanish alphabet. She has done it perfectly for a few days now. She spent some time working in Rosetta Stone.
We finished school at 12:30. 2 hours and 45 minutes today.
