We read 12 books yesterday. 2 chapter books and 10 children’s books. We started school at 9:45 again this morning.
Warm-up: Ani wrote on the whiteboard “Easter”. In her composition book she wrote “Easter is fun.”
Language Arts: Ani did a page in Spelling Workout B. She read lesson 52 in the McGuffey Second Reader. She did lessons 41, 42, and 43 in First Language Lessons. She did cursive Ee’s on lined paper. Cameron played on StudyDog. I read three chapters of Robinson Crusoe (great illustrated classics) to the kids.
Math: Ani completed lesson 28 of Math-U-See Gamma. She drilled her 10 facts. Cameron completed one page of Math-U-See Primer.
Latin: We memorized the nouns fatherland, breeze, queen, and island.
Religion: I read four pages of the Illustrated Book or Mormon volume 3 to the kids.
History: I read two pages in the Kingfisher History Encyclopedia to the kids. They copied hieroglyphs on a piece of paper to make a scroll. Then we took the scroll and yesterday’s tablet and put water on them and dropped them on the floor and wadded up the paper to show how the tablets would last longer than the scrolls. I read parts of Hieroglyphs and The Mystery of the Hieroglyphs to the kids.
Music History: We read about Chopin in the Classical Composers book. We listened to a waltz by Chopin and a song from Heigh-Ho Mozart in the style of Chopin. I read a biography on Chopin to the kids.
Spanish: Ani played on Rosetta Stone.
We finished school at 12:45. 3 hours total today.
