h1 June 29th, 2006

We read one chapter book and one childrens book yesterday. We started school at 10:15 this morning.

Warm-up: The warm-up for today was “Leaves”. Ani wrote that leaves fall out of a tree when it is fall.

Math: Ani did page 14E in Math-U-See Delta. She played with the Flashmaster.

Latin: Ani watched the video for chapter 8 in Latin for Children A.

History: Ani worked on memorizing the ancient Egyptian dynasties list.

Science: We started our human body unit today. The kids were very excited. We read about blood. Ani narrated it. We compared our fists to see who had the biggest heart and who had the smallest. Of course mine was the biggest. Ani’s was the smallest, just a little smaller than Cameron’s. I read A Drop of Blood to the kids.

Language Arts: Ani took a spelling test and did four pages in Spelling Workout B. She read lesson 43 in the McGuffey Third Reader. She worked on memorizing the prepositions and The Year. I read four chapters of The Red Badge of Courage (great illustrated classics) to the kids. Ani completed lesson 20 of Rod & Staff English 3.

Religion: I read 10 pages of the Illustrated Book of Mormon volume 4 to the kids.

Art: We learned about Toulouse-Lautrec and Ani made an event poster in his style.

Spanish: Ani worked in Rosetta Stone for a while.

We finished school at 1. 2 hours and 45 minutes today.
